Executive "Seattle" Shine - Winter - Walk-ins welcomed!

Seattle Shine - Winter is perfect for your everyday shoes or boots and great for the PNW weather.

We start by washing the shoes with Lincoln EZ Cleaner, which is made of all types of leather, including suede, nubuck, canvas, and satin.

We then add a leather lotion, Tarrago Nano lotion. This lotion is excellent during the winter months; it's a Superior waterproofer.

We add a cream polish—Saphir, Boot Black, or Meltonian. It feeds the shoe with nutrients and vitamins that the leather no longer has.

We then add Saphir, Boot Black, Angelus, or Meltonian Wax, plus two more coats of Superior Wax. Brushing the shoe brings up the shine, and we finish with a buffing towel to bring up a hard shine!

Lasts about 2 - 4 weeks. Seattle's hard shine is well-suited to our rainy weather.

Wax does more than just polish; it cleans, preserves, is water-resistant, and restores. The finest grade of other waxes and oils. Takes 15 - 20 minutes, depending on the condition of the shoes.

Tailored specifically for the PNW climate, the Seattle Shine is perfect for your everyday shoes!

*Appointments are only for in-the-chair shoe shines!

Off The Foot (OTF) Charge - Add $10

In some cases, OTF is required for repair or best shine.

It takes twice as long—doing one shoe at a time —sometimes three times as long, depending on the dirt or stains.

Cleaning the inside of the shoe, taking out the insoles and cleaning them, taking out the shoe laces and washing them or replacing them if needed, and washing the bottom of the shoes as well.

Therefore, we must add a surcharge of $10

In addition to quality repair and/or an incredible shine, we clean the bottoms of the shoes and use a shoe refresher on the insides. In the event of unforeseen issues, such as lace replacement, extra gluing, or stain removal, we'll contact you and adjust the final cost accordingly.

    Cordovan Leather Shine

    Cordovan leather clean and shine

Cordovan leather is essentially horse leather, but not every horse leather is Cordovan. Only the so-called shells or butts, which are the rear quarters of the horse, are turned into Cordovan, hence the often-used name Shell Cordovan.

Cordovan is an equine leather with a unique look derived from a tiny area of the horse's back. These hyper-resistant and flexible leathers require regular maintenance.

Clean, use Saphir Renovateur, and apply Saphir Cordovan Cream Shoe Polish

It is also perfect for Crocodile, Alligator, Ostrich, and Cordovan leathers. It is a water-based formulation—no solvents—and rejuvenates leather through deep conditioning. I like to clean and polish my Cordovan about twice a year. But, like all my shoes, I brush them before and after I wear them.

    Saphir Cordovan leather cream

The Saphir Médaille d'Or Cordovan Cream Shoe Polish is an all-natural cream polish based on beeswax and carnauba, several other nutrient waxes, and double the amount of pigment of ordinary polishes. It is formulated especially for high-quality cordovan leather and does not contain turpentine.

Australian deer bone contains its oils and, significantly, has rounded edges that protect leather from damage. Use the deer bone to eliminate creases. It is suggested that a professional use it, as it can take some time and easily scratch the Cordovan if not used correctly.

*Appointments are only for in-the-chair shoe shines!

    <~~~~~~>

Exotic shoes, such as those made from crocodile, alligator, and reptile skin, require special care.

These precious skins can be expensive, and using ordinary shoe polish formulated for regular calfskin shoes can damage the skins over time.

Proper conditioning of crocodile and alligator skins is essential to prevent the scales from drying out and cracking.

This is why Old Style uses a variety of products from Boot Black, Saphir, and Pure. All these products work well together and are my favorites for cleaning and maintaining Cordovan and Exotic leathers.
